Copenhagen-born and based Rene Gurskov uses those Danish roots to inspire clothes where function is at the fore, but that combines it beautifully with a left-of-centre fashion aesthetic. Gurskov began making clothes while still at school, designing one-off pieces for his friends (his father taught him to draw, his mother to sew). Before long the designer had opened his first shop and wholesale business, In Circus, to much acclaim. Today Gurskov focuses his attention on wearable if slightly avant-garde menswear collections that are growing in popularity.
